During each trip, I experience the same warm welcome from my Nepalese friends who are insatiably open minded and curious. With their help, I can collect exceptional objects inspired by religious cults, traditions, the Himalayans’ shamanism. In Nepal, we can find items collected from inhabitants along the Tibetan Himalayan mountain range all the way to Ladakh.
I have traveled throughout the western part of the continent. I am familiar with the statues, the masks present in the daily life of the villagers. They all have a use in community life and have distinctive issues following the ethnic group from which they come from, like an ID card. On each trip, I harvest authentic objects from antique shops or villagers; objects that have one day inspired European artists. I highly recommend the tour of the Quai Branly museum in Paris to immerse yourself in this fabulous world.
I love everything in this region, the comfort, the delicacy of Bali, the change of scenery, the magic of the other islands. An amazing country in full economic development, in full development of domestic consumption, but also a country of painters, of sculptors, of artists bubbling with energy such as the volcanoes along the Indonesian archipelago. There, I collect Indonesian everyday objects, but also unique handmade contemporary pieces designed in the spirit of recent European trends.
I loved this great democracy rooted in a verdant country in the south and desert in the north. I essentially collect my pieces in the south, in Tamil Nadu and Kerala, and in the north in Rajasthan and Gujarat. In India, I have a network of experts that collect objects of quality corresponding to my selection criteria. Thus regularly they comprise a multitude of objects, furniture, old fabrics that I sort meticulously after a drastic selection. Thanks to an ancestral know how, I can have an item or a piece of furniture modified or restored, and give it back some of it’s cachet or adapt it to our modern way of living. Thanks to my many trips and all the time spent with them, I have gained the confidence and friendship of many professionals who guarantee me treasures and surprises every time I go there.
I lived several years in South America and Central America. I followed Huaqueros tomb raiders, I have held in my hands authentic hispanic statues but I chose, in all legality, to carry out trading crafts of rich and abundant quality in this region.
China is still a mystery for me by its size, the diversity of its regions and its people. I found that the West provides a truncated picture of this country. For my part I enjoyed this welcoming and charming people. The antique furniture that I collect is beautiful, light and graceful.
I have gone through many places and there is still so much I would like to see... My passion is trade, and especially encounters I make along the way…
